Don't forget Izzy is up for adoption. She is a lovely 5 year old GSD. She was left at a shelter, and she just wants a family of her own. She loves her people and can't wait to meet you.
She doesn't do well with other dogs, but she will make a great companion. She knows her commands and loves to lay with you either at your feet or your lap on request.
There is someone out there waiting for her. Here she is!

Meet Izzy
This is Izzy. Two weeks ago Amber had me go to the shelter to pick up this pretty girl. She was an owner surrender and had only been in the shelter for about 48 hours. When I say she drug me out of the shelter, I'm not kidding. RUNNING. TOP SPEED. Before I could even open the door to the car she leaped inside. Then she sat panting all the way home.
When I say nervous. I mean it. I was scared for her. She was constantly pacing and panting non-stop when we got into my house. She was lost. She was confused. She was scared.
As I watched her over the next few days, she had extreme separation anxiety. Every time I left the room she would cry and bark. She calmed down after she realized I was coming back.
I don't know her back story, but I can imagine. She is 5 years old. She was dropped at the shelter due to "move". Who knows if she had 1 owner or 10. By the way she knows how to sit, down, roll over, stay, shake, and have her belly rubbed I can imagine that someone put some love and effort into her.
I don't know whats more sad...the fact that someone's life was so bad they had to drop an obviously loved dog at a shelter, or the fact that Izzy laid on the floor depressed for days. She missed her owners. She still misses them. But they aren't coming back.
I'm not sure if she knows that.
Izzy is one of those characters. The characters in the movies that are so sweet and loving and perfect, but they've got troubling issues.. that hinders their progress. Izzy's issue is that she is having trouble with other dogs. I KNOW it is out of fear. Who knows what has happened? Was this all of her life? Was this at the shelter?
All I know is that its the reason she hasn't been adopted. "Well I need a dog that is good with other dogs." "I have temperamental dogs, so that probably wouldn't work." I'm not saying these are excuses. I'm saying that these are common reasons that stand in Izzy's path to happiness.
Izzy isn't the perfect package....for everyone. But she IS the perfect package..for someone.
You know in the movies when that girl finds the perfect guy, but he has a troubled past? What happens? She says, "I can't do this." Then, that silly girl comes to her senses and they work on their problems TOGETHER. And they stay together forever.
Maybe that's a fairytale. But Izzy needs to know that there is a fairytale ending. Because this lovely lady, has had her fair share of harships, and she needs her knight and shining armor to save her.

Day 37
So it happened.. someone wants me. Can you believe it? I thought I was just going to visit some of foster mom's friends, but then I heard them say "We love him! We want him." Its a Christmas miracle, but its not even Christmas! I met my new mom and my new little mom. I think thats what I call her? She small, like my size. I saw her bed, its looks just big enough for me to fit in. YES! I even saw a small version of me next door called "Baby". Wow so many new friends. Well, I wasn't such a good friend.. I had to show my new family how tough I was, so I barked at him... and some other people... and another dog. Wow, I bet they saw how tough I was. I think they are probably going to make me stop being so tough. That's fine with me, but it will take some getting used to.
I was happy. I even met a cat. I didn't bark! I wanted to play. I sat on the couch like a good boy. But for some reason, foster mom kept crying! She'd laugh, then cry, then laugh, then cry. I didn't really understand. She's crazy sometimes. My new family... MY NEW FAMILY! It sounds crazy! My new family really likes me. I am just so excited!
Ahh...it feels so good to be loved.
I think, I have so many people who love me now. It's crazy how a guy's life can go from everyone hating you to everyone loving you. Someone upstairs must be watching out for me. At least that's what foster mom says.
Foster mom gave me that tearful speech again... She gave me one like this before when I was sick and hurting after my neuter. It goes something like this:
"You are such a good boy, and I love you so much. I promise you that we will find someone who loves you even more. They will be so happy to have you in their life. You might even have a little girl or boy to be best friends with. I promise promise promise you that you will never ever have to be in a place where you don't feel loved. I know sometimes you get in trouble, but its because we love you and we want you to be the best that you can. You are a sweet sweet boy and no matter who becomes your owner, we will always love you. I promise you. You will always have someone who loves you. We will be here too if it doesn't work out. But it will. Because you deserve it to. A boy like you should never have been without a loving home. You never will be again. I love baby boy and you are going to make some family the happiest family around."
She also ended it with "Call me if you ever need anything." She knows I can't. I think that was just for her peace of mind. She's said she's cried more over me than any other man in her life. (That made me feel good because she really loves me.) Remember, she's never done this before. She is just being silly. I"ll be fine! This is what I always dreamed of!!!
So I'm packing up my collar and I move in Saturday! You won't believe this... they are throwing a dog shower for me. A real party because of me! That's something only Creed does! Man people, you really know how to treat a dog right. I promise to give you all the love back and more. I promise to try my hardest to be whatever it is you really want me to be.
So blog world. This is my last entry. (Ok so I may update you with a picture with my new family!) I have a home, now there's space at foster mom's for someone(dog) like me. If I was to give one of those dogs advice this is what I would say:
There comes a point in your life where you feel that things can't get any worse. They usually do. But right when you are about to give up, something changes. It's called love. Someone shares their love with you, and then they introduce you to someone else with love.. and the cycle keeps going. The love keeps growing. And you have to share all of your love back with them because that is how things get better. Then things keep getting better and better until you couldn't be happier. So old dog, just remember when things get tough, somebody out there loves you. And they can't wait to meet you.
Thanks everyone for saving me,
Minden

Day 27
That thing is off my head! Woohoo! I can run and play again! Boston and I ran around the yard today. We played tug of war, and she chased me around to try and get my ball. I'm too fast for her! Oh and foster parents let me sleep in their room last night. I made sure to watch the door all night. Nobody was gonna break into this house on my watch! I sure am happy I'm not on the streets anymore. I just kinda wish I had a little kid that loved me forever. Foster mom said "One day you're going to find someone to love you forever and ever." I can't wait until then.P.S. Foster mom took my senior pictures outside today. I look good!
Day 25
Day 20
Foster mom took me to the vet today. She gave me that look. You know, the look mom's give when something bad is about to happen. Well I went in to the vet and when I woke up OUCH! Then if things weren't already bad, there was some plastic thing on my head. "Who are all these people?" I thought. Then, thankfully foster mom was there. That made me happy, so I gave her lots of kisses. Whew, I'm glad she didn't leave me there. Then I had to stay in my own room for a few days. Man, this wasn't a good day.

Day 15
Day 14
I'm still getting better. Man I love these foster people. I barked at the neighbor dog today! I showed my foster mom how good of a guard dog I am. Uh oh. Car ride! I didn't puke. Whew. Then we went inside a gym where all these people gave me love. Cool! Then I saw another dog! I let out a warning bark. Don't come near my foster mom you dog thug! I don't know if he was really a thug. You just can't be too sure. Then I had to lay next to this dog called Creed. He didn't look very threatening but sometimes he looked over at us so I said "back up buddy!". Here is the best part: all of these people came and hugged me! My favorite were all the little kids! They give the best love! I really like thi one family with 2 little girls. I think they liked me. I hope someone did. I tried really hard to be on my best behavior. Oh and guess what? Amber was there! She gave me peanut butter! I know why they call her an Angel!
Day 10
Foster mom and dad bought me toys today. One was a raccoon so I showed them my skills! I immediately ripped his head off and dropped him on the ground! See how strong I am? I looked out the window all day today. I like protecting this house. I like watching the neighborhood kids too. Ahhh maybe I'll have one of those little kids as my own one day.
Day 6
I went to this outdoor mall today. Everyone said I was so pretty. When foster mom said I was up for adoption they walked away. Guess I'm not that pretty. One lady ran out of the store and said how much she loved german shepherds. I guess that's me. Foster mom said I was up for adoption and she gave me hugs. She didnt run away. Then foster mom took me into treat heaven! Bones everywhere! I could go in too! She bought me a cupcake?? It was goooood. As we were leaving a baby in a rolling cart came up to me. I love babies! While foster mom was talking I gave the baby a kiss! I understand baby. He said he loved me too. It was a good day. We went on a walk in the sunset. I hope this never goes away.
Day 3
Man my nose and ears hurt! I just want to sleep it away. Foster mom says those blue pills will make it better. I sure hope so. She better stop squirting that stuff in my ears! She gave me lots of love today. I kinda like these people. Foster mom took me outside and I saw those neighborhood kids again. Jeez they really like me! They begged their parents to let them go on a walk with me! So the older kids pulled the younger kids in the wagon and I got to run behind! Wow this neighborhood has lots of stuff going on. Those kids screamed and laughed a lot. I did too. They just didn't know it. Man that was fun. Foster Mom said I did a great job! Man is this how life is?
Day 1
Day 1:
I left the concrete dog house today. The nice lady Amber came back with a lady she called "foster mom". She put me in a car and took me to her house. Barf! I wanted to puke. Cars move way too fast! When we got to her house these neighbor kids gave me lots of love. I like them. Then I met her man friend. They call him "foster dad". They put me in a room with a nice big couch. All to myself!! They gave me a bath too. I was pretty dirty. Livin on the streets sucked. I'm pretty sure there are other dogs in this house somewhere, I can smell them! Oh well. I'm just glad to have a soft bed and quiet room. Oh and food! Food!
